Planetary Gearboxes

Planetary Gearbox series is of a Modular design based on the DIN Standard. They are proven to be extremely reliable in a broad range of industrial applications, particularly where there is space limitation and requirements for high torque and large ratios.

This standard range of Gearboxes features a torque rating between 22,000 and 2,600,000 Nm with rations up to 4,000 to 1. They are available as a right-angle of inline configuration.

Manufacturing Gearboxes

Manufacturing of Planetary Gearboxes is carried out on the very latest CHC machining centres at the Donly factory with machine tools from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, UK and USA, guaranteeing the highest level of precision and productivity available in the world. Full traceability of all raw materials, manufacturing processes, inspection and assembly are documented for every Gearbox and are available on simple request. This includes chemical analysis of raw material before machining, gear cutting, full immersion gas carburizing heat treatment of gears (spie pieces), gear grinding and laboratory gear measurement.

Inspection of Planetary Gearboxes

At Donly every Gearbox assembly is “double inspected” with records kept of gear tooth contact/markings, gear backlash and bearing clearances. This is followed by load testing and full load testing as required to guarantee vibration levels, temperature rise and noise.

All Gearboxes are fitted with grease-purged labyrinth seals for ultimate protection in harsh environmental conditions with centre greasing point for maintenance ease. Remote condition monitoring fitted as required.

All Planetary Gearboxes carry a 3-year warranty along with a network of service centres around Australia.
